“Come on children let’s sing, about the goodness of the Lord. Come on children let’s shout about God’s great rewards” - ……Mahalia Jackson

Just like the legendary Queen of Gospel, Debbie Orange has been “singing and shouting” about the goodness of the Lord ALL of her life…..and with the release of her first solo album, “Debbie Orange Sings Church Live!” her music ministry will be applauded by the gospel …and secular world.   Now the record buying public will know about Debbie’s greatness and talent when it comes to praising the Lord!

Debbie Orange, a native of Chicago began singing, just like one of her idol’s Mahalia Jackson, at the young age of five and spent her early years winning various talent shows, musical competitions and taking part in numerous school affiliated programs and events.  With divine inspiration from GOD and encouragement from her parents, Debbie began to sing in various churches in the Chicago area. Her early style reflected a blend of the freedom and power of gospel.

After becoming a member of the Church of Today, Debbie found Christ and began to sharpen her vocal skills. Listening to and studying legendary gospel artists such as Albertina Walker, Pastor Shirley Caesar and of course, the late great Mahalia Jackson, Debbie developed a style that became exclusively hers. In 1986, Debbie was led by the Holy Spirit and joined the St. John Missionary Baptist Church, where  Reverend Dr. A. Edward Davis, Jr., is the Pastor.

At St. John, Debbie joined the Music Ministry. She is a leading choir soloist, was a charter member of the Praise Team. She has also become a much sought after vocalist at religious concerts, events and programs throughout the country.  Her unique contralto voice and spirit-filled delivery of GOD’s word in song soon caught the attention of many, leading to her performances with Albertina Walker, Natalie Cole,  the GMWA Women’s Choir, the GMAC Choir, Wess Morgan, Jekalyn Carr, Tim Rodgers, Calvin Bridges, Kathy Townsend, Earl Bynum, Bishop Larry D. Trotter, Victory Travelers, Otis Clay , Ambassador Bobby Jones,  just to name a few. Debbie is also a voting member of the Stellar Awards Gospel Music Academy.

Debbie is the recipient of the 2014 PTY Award "Female Traditional Artist" Rochester, and was nominated in 2012 and 2014 for Gospel Music Excellence Award, National independent Artist: Female Artist.

Her anointing as a gospel music vocalist, combined with her melodic voice has led her to the release of this first project, “Debbie Orange Sings Church Live!,” Recorded at her home church, St. John Missionary Baptist Church and produced by Reverend Sherwin (Butch) Yancy, the album presents Debbie at her very best and doing what she does with passion…praising GOD in song… the place where she loves singing the most….CHURCH!

Debbie's  sophomore single "Hold On" is sure to put you into an atmosphere of praise. It was  produced by Montage Pheloan, an extraordinary producer/songwriter/musician.

So, come on children get ready for the power and the glory of Debbie Orange singing LIVE!
